Ideen Shafaee

The Percussionist and cajón and Udu instructor, Ideen Shafaee, was born in 1987  in Tehran . Despite all his interest in Visual Arts, he graduated with bachelor of science in accouting from University of Terhan. Being passionate about flamenco music, he started to learn playing guitar at the age of sixteen but owing to an accident he had to give it up. In 2005, he began self-taught cajòn playing. His first performances were for theartical works and since then he, as a percussionist,  has performed several concerts in different genres  in and out of Iran. Of his other noteworthy experiences and work, his cajòn instructing workshops can be mentioned. Joining Mohammad Azmand Quartet in 2018, he has eagerly tried to find a new voice and unique sense through emphasizing on the common features of Iranian and jazz music.
